The class will meet on location at a fairly dark spot in Ona, FL, just a bit South of Solomon's Castle shortly before sunset. It's next to a cemetery by the Baptist Church. Yep, that's right, a cemetery. It's October, where else would you want to meet in the dark? The location is approximately 47 minutes East of Lakewood Ranch.

Directions - 

• From SR 64 - Take SR 64 East towards Zolfo Springs. Turn right on CR 665. When you get to the fork on the road, a mile or two past Solomon's Castle, keep to the left to stay on CR 665. Cemetery Road is just past the Baptist Church.
• FROM SR 70 - You can also take SR 70 towards Arcadia. Turn left onto Pine Level Road. When you come to a fork in the road make a right onto CR 665. Cemetery Road is just past the Baptist church.

Camera Equipment: You'll need a D-SLR camera or ILC Mirrorless System. Bring your widest angle lens with a 2.8 f/stop or faster. You'll need a very sturdy tripod and a remote switch for your camera. Keep in mind this is depending on the weather. So come prepared; bring a flashlight and bug spray!

FEE $55 - There are no refunds if the Milky Way isn't visible due to cloud cover. The field trip is an opportunity to photograph the Milky Way.

8:08 PM Galactic Center is visible

9:22 PM Galactic Center sets
