The digital creation is from an old pastel piece I made several years (decades?) ago from a figure study with a model. I lost the original pastel to time. However, I photographed her before she wandered away.

The figure reminded me of Gaia, the Universal Mother, but I never finished it. So, I scanned the photo and decided to put a 21st-century spin on Gaia. I also found inspiration from the recent images of the James Web Telescope. The question I have is if Gaia is waking up or if she is weeping about the changes to her universe. I see her sleeping, about to wake up and kick some celestial tail.
